Wellness Walk raises €11,500 for hospice

After a two-year break the Citywest Wellness Walk for LauraLynn returned and took place at 1pm on Thursday in The Citywest Business Campus with €11,500 raised for the children’s hospice.

There was a big turnout from the businesses on the campus for the charity event and there was a great fun atmosphere.

The walk was officially started by South Dublin’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Joanna Tuffy.

After the walk there was refreshments, HB ice cream, pizza and party games like giant chess and Connect 4.

There were 10 spot prizes given out including One4All gift vouchers and a voucher for a stay in Cahernane House Hotel, Kerry, worth €300.

One of the organisers of the event, Tom Fitzpatrick, said: “This is the tenth year we have had a charity event in the Citywest Campus.

“LauraLynn is such a deserving charity. It is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice providing care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families from across Ireland.

“We had great support from local businesses who sponsored the event including: Honda, Zayo Broadband Fibre, Citywest Business Campus, Visual ID, The Address Hotel Citywest, KN circet, Snap Citywest and Specialized Bike store.

“The committee is delighted to announce in total €11,250 was realised for LauraLynn. Every euro raised goes directly to LauraLynn for the great work they do.”
