Young dancers wow the audience during show-stopping performance

YOUNG dancers from Clondalkin and Jobstown recently gave a show-stopping performance at their sold-out show in the Civic Theatre – and even received a standing ovation.

A total of 85 dancers aged between three-years-old and 19 took to the stage on Sunday, May 21, and wowed the enraptured and enthusiastic audience.

The children are all pupils of Laura Pisani, a teacher in St Thomas SNS in Jobstown and a dance teacher in the LD Dance School.

Ms Pisani told The Echo: “The dancers performed for a sold-out theatre and earned an amazing extended standing ovation.

“Each child danced with their respective team and on their own in creative solo and duo pieces. The audience were amazed and applauded their talent and confidence.

“They were commended for their amazing talent and showcase, and parents have been flooding my inbox with praise for the little stars.”

Many of the talented young performers are also students in St Thomas SNS, and staff from the school helped out to ensure the show would be a roaring success for the kids.

“I’m blessed that I have a great group of work friends from St Thomas’ SNS, family and my dance friends who worked hard backstage minding the kids and ensuring a fluid run of the show,” added Ms Pisani.

“My amazing deputy principal and long-time friend Matthew Campbell was there all day working on sound and production and Alex, my colleague’s son, worked magic on the lighting system.

“I couldn’t ask for better support and the children of Jobstown and Clondalkin are so grateful.”

However, the real stars of the show were, of course, the young performers, with Ms Pisani praising them for their stellar performance.

“I’m so proud and so grateful to work with such talented, positive and kind children,” she said.

Ms Pisani also praised the staff of the Civic Theatre, who she described as being “so wonderful” and said that their help added to the positive experience that the children had.
