Young man accused of damaging sign outside Cloverhill Prison

A MAN has appeared in Blanchardstown District Court accused of damaging a sign in the public area of Cloverhill Prison.

Michael Clancy (21), from John Paul Park, Murrintown, Wexford, is charged with damaging a sign in the public area of Cloverhill Prison, Cloverhill Road, Clondalkin, on July 13, 2018.

Sergeant Geraldine McManigan told Judge McHugh that it will be alleged that Clancy damaged a sign outside Cloverhill Prison. She said the DPP had directed summary disposal.

Judge McHugh asked if cctv evidence was available. Sgt McManigan said it wasn’t.

Judge McHugh accepted jurisdiction.

He remanded Clancy to appear before the court to a date in September for a plea or a date for hearing.
