11 people rescued and six taken to hospital after Tallaght apartment fire overnight
Six people were taken to hospital overnight after a fire at a Tallaght apartment complex in which 11 people in total were rescued from.
Emergency calls were received at around 3am this morning when a fire broke out at the building on Cookstown Way, near the Luas stop for Tallaght Hospital.

In total, 11 people were rescued, including some from the balconies of the apartments.
Six people were then taken to hospital for smoke inhalation, including young children, but their injuries are not thought to be serious.
Seven units from Dublin Fire Brigade attended the blaze, along with three ambulance from stations including Tallaght, Dolphin’s Barn, Rathfarnham and Tara Street.
