2,600 ecstasy tablets, 281 grams of MDMA and five cannabis plants worth over €43,000 seized

AS part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 281 grams of MDMA, 2,600 ecstasy tablets and five cannabis plants, with a combined estimated value of over €43,000, following a search, under warrant, of a property in the Terenure area on Thursday.

The seizure was made as a result of a Multi-Agency operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Terenure District Drugs Unit at Terenure Garda Station.

A 24-year-old man was arrested by Gardai and is currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Terenure Garda Station.

“This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs. A Garda statement released said: “The operation resulted in the search of a house in the Terenure area of County Dublin at 11am.

“During the course of this search, approximately 281 grams of suspected MDMA, 2600 suspected ecstasy tablets and five suspected cannabis plants were seized.

“Investigations are ongoing”.
