37 years of Echo front pages
Our first edition of May (in shops and online today) kicks of our 37th Birthday celebrations, so we thought it would be great to share a front page from each year since 1980.
So much has changed in that time, but so much seems to have remained the same – with many of the topics covered in the 80s and 90s, again being covered in editions published in 2017.
As some of you eagle-eyed readers may notice, we’ve not included front pages from 1987 and 1988. Due to operational reasons there were only a handful of editions published during that time and they never made the archive.
We hope you’re enjoying our throwback features, and don’t forget you you can check out ‘Do you remember going out in Tallaght in 90s?’ Part One HERE, Part Two HERE, Part Three HERE and Part Four HERE.
You can also check out Part One of ‘Do you remember growing up in Tallaght in the 80s? HERE, while our first Clondalkin Throwback can be viewed HERE.
