€500,000 worth of drugs seized in Tallaght

AS PART of ongoing operations by the Terenure District Drugs Unit targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Rathmines area a house was searched in the Tallaght area on Saturday evening, December 22.
As a result of this search, Heroin and Cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized with an estimated street value of over €500,000.
A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with this investigation and is currently detained at Terenure Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2- Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
In a statement released by Garda this evening it said: “As part of ongoing operations by the Terenure District Drugs Unit targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Rathmines area a house was searched in the Tallaght area yesterday evening, Saturday, December 22.
“As a result of this search, Heroin and Cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized with an estimated street value of over €500,000.”
