594 apartment plans lodged for Clonburris

DEVELOPER Cairn Homes has submitted a planning application for nearly 600 apartments within the Clonburris Strategic Development Zone (SDZ).

Proposals in the plans submitted to South Dublin County Council on December 15, include the construction of a mixed-use development comprising 594 apartments, office floorspace, four retail units, a creche and urban square in the Clonburris Development Areas CUCS3 & CSWS3 of the Clonburris SDZ planning scheme.

Spread over eight blocks, the apartments are made up of 255 one-beds, 307 two-beds and 32 three-beds.

All apartments are scheduled to have a terrace or balcony, with communal amenity spaces.

According to the plans, Block A (96 apartments) will have a creche at ground and first floor level as well as a play area.

The mixed use aspect of the scheme includes a commercial office development in Block C, one retail unit at ground floor of Block B, and three retail units at ground floor of Block E.

Vehicular access will be from the previously permitted Clonburris Southern Link Street, and R113 to the east.

The plans provide for associated works and infrastructure to facilitate footpaths, landscaping boundary treatments, public, and private open space areas.

For car parking, 396 spaces are planned and bicycle parking is 1,232 spaces.

This application is being made in accordance with the Clonburris SDZ Planning Scheme 2019 and relates to a proposed development within the Clonburris Strategic Development Planning Scheme area.

An Environmental Impact Assessment report accompanied the planning application.
