665-unit residential plans lodged for Boherboy site

A STATUTORY notice for a large-scale 665-unit residential development at Boherboy, Saggart, was published in recent days.

The development is a joint proposal by developers Durkan Estates Ireland Limited and Kelland Homes Limited.

According to the statutory notice for the Strategic Housing Development (SHD), the plan comprises 257 houses, 152 duplex units and 246 one-, two- and three-bed apartments across nine blocks ranging in height from two- to five-storeys in height.

This shows an increase in unit numbers from the two developers’ original plans for the development, which were submitted to An Bord Pleanála for a pre-planning consultation last October.

At that point, Durkan and Kelland lodged plans for a 628-unit development, comprising 268 houses and 360 apartments.

In December last year, An Bord Pleanála ruled that the plans had “reasonable application basis”, ahead of the submission of a formal application.

A decision on the 665-unit development at Boherboy has not yet been made.
