AN Bord Pleanála has overturned South Dublin County Council’s decision to grant permission for the development of 52 dwellings on a site to the east of Bohernabreena Road and the south of Oldcourt Road in Bohernabreena.
Capami Ltd was granted planning permission for the development last January, comprising one three-storey, four-bed, detached house, one two-storey, three-bed, detached house, 32 two- and three-storey, three- and four-bed detached houses.

Provision of 18 one- and two-bed apartment units, to all be housed in one three-storey apartment block, was included in the application.
Bohernabreena residents David and Anne Kennedy lodged an appeal against South Dublin County Council’s decision last February.
The Kennedys outlined a variety of concerns in their grounds for appeal, including no work beginning on the construction of a main link road in the area which would service the proposed development, and they described the roads in the area as “rural roads with inadequate and unsafe pedestrian footpaths”.
