Additional info sought for proposed residential units in Ballyroan House
ADDITIONAL information is being sought about the proposed development of 23 residential units on the site of Ballyroan House in Ballyroan Heights.
The application for planning permission contains plans to build 21 houses and two apartments varying from one to three storeys in height, as part of a residential scheme.
The proposed accommodation units will be in the form of one to four bedroom units in a combination of detached, semi-detached, terraced and apartment units across the site.
South Dublin County Council has requested additional information from the applicant, Homeland Investments Ltd, in relation to a number of items, including the height and location of a number of the proposed dwellings in relation to the protected structure of Ballyroan House.
The council has advised that the height of a terrace of three proposed dwellings on the site should be reduced, and that the dwellings should be relocated further south of Ballyroan House in order to minimise any impact on the protected structure.
The council also advised that two of the proposed houses should be moved southwards, and that one of the units should be omitted as it is not sensitive to its prominent location with the historical access and approach to the protected structure.
A revised site layout, landscape plan and open space maintenance plan has been requested by the council.
