Aidan Hyland from Deansrath Community College, was awarded a Highly Commended Distinction award in the 2025/26 Oireachtas Essay Competition, reports Taylor O’Shea.
Aiste an Oireachtais, a 32-county bilingual competition, gives students the opportunity to reflect on democracy within their society as well as how young people help shape the world. The topic of this year’s competition being “Is AI a Threat to Democracy?”
