Al had a phenomenal 2016, selling out shows in venues across the country and further afield.
Several appearances on television have also helped to boost the much-loved comedian’s profile, and the move to Today FM will surely only increase his fan-base further.
Speaking about the new role live on the Dermot and Dave Show this morning Porter said: “I really want it to be light and very good, I don’t just want to go down the news line.
“I considered calling it the Al Porter breakfast Show because I only get up at 12:30pm anyway.”
