All eyes are on Croker ahead of Kerry and Limerick double bill

ALL EYES will be on Croke Park this Saturday evening with both All-Ireland Senior Football and All-Ireland Senior Hurling champions in action in the National League.

Sam Maguire holders Dublin have a huge game in front of them when they go head to head with old rivals Kerry in the third round of the competition.

Dessie Farrell’s side will be looking to build on their first league win last week when they disposed of Roscommon by seven-points having lost to Monaghan and Mayo by a point in their opening matches.

Having led by a point at the interval, Dublin hit the turbo-boost button in the second half with Templeogue Synge Street’s Niall Scully finding the net after 55 minutes.

Con O’Callaghan impressed for the Dubs with seven points in total while Templeogue Synge Street man Lorcan O’Dell also landed a good score.

Thomas Davis’ Cian Murphy continues to impress in defence and he and his team mates will be under plenty of pressure this weekend as they face the likes of David and Paudie Clifford.

David Clifford kicked a superb winner for Kerry against Mayo last weekend having scored five points in total while Sean O’Shea was another player who led by example for the Kingdom.

The Dubs will be keen to limit the Clifford’s threat in attack while Joe and Diarmuid O’Connor and Tadgh Morley are others who will pose trouble for the Dubs.

Dublin are looking for a first league win over Kerry since 2018 and they will be hoping O’Callaghan, Brian Fenton and Ciaran Kilkenny lead by example.

In the curtain-raiser, Dublin’ senior hurlers have their hands full when they square up to All-Ireland champions Limerick.

The Dubs suffered an opening round defeat to Tipperary but bounced back against Antrim in the second round.

A late goal from Cian O’Sullivan secured the win in Belfast and will know a big performance in required this weekend.

Limerick easily overcame Antrim in the opening round and they went on to beat Westmeath last week.
