An Cosán, the organisation founded by Katherine Zappone and Anne Louise Gilligan, has been at the heart of Tallaght West for almost 30 years. Since then the mantel has passed through many wonderful and visionary hands.

Today An Cosán offers a variety of programmes for all ages including early year’s education and care, parenting programmes, community education, higher education, technology and accessing employment and most recently, their award winning virtual education programme which brings the ethos of An Cosán beyond Jobstown to locations across the nation.

In a local context, An Cosán support over 1,000 families annually through the services and educational programmes they offer. To date they have made a significant contribution to the community of Tallaght and beyond.

Since its beginning 15,000 women and men have progressed through the national framework of qualifications, from basic literacy and personal development to QQI FETAC and HETAC accredited programmes. 3,500 children have availed of early education and care programme.
