Apprenticeship course launched in University

THE OFFICIAL launch of the Apprenticeship Programme which involves the Higher Certificate in Telecommunications and Data Network Engineering took place at Technological University Dublin Tallaght - Campus.

TU Dublin, Tallaght is looking forward to accepting its first team of apprentices from telecommunication companies in January 2020.

Siobhan O’Callaghan (EL Solutions), Alan Kelly (BT), Damien Meere (BT) and Aidan Barry (KN Group).

There are many major infrastructure projects proposed over the next number of years by companies involved in the telecommunications sector.

The demand for a robust communications infrastructure continues to offer challenges for the telecom-munications industry.

Companies are now planning to hire a new generation of telecommunications technicians. Their role will be to plan and install modern and advanced data networks.

TU Dublin, Tallaght has developed a Higher Certifcate in Telecommunications and Data Networking Engineering which is a nationally recognised Apprenticeship Programme for this sector.

The Apprenticeship Programme will support companies by providing a formal and accredited professional structure for the training of Technicians over a period of two years.

This partnership with industry will enhance the quality of education and unlock new opportunities for the telecommunications workforce in the ever expanding connected world.
