TWO local businesses were honoured at this year’s 98FM Best of Dublin awards, with the Best Barber going to Hairlough Barbers in Clondalkin and Best Local Sports Club going to Empire Dance and Fitness in Tallaght.

It was the second year in a row that Hairlough Barbers were awarded with Best Barber, with the Ninth Lock Road barber also celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

Owner Lenny Howell, who is from Clondalkin, spoke to The Echo about the win.

Speaking to The Echo, Lenny said: “It’s great to win it again for the second time, especially as it’s our tenth anniversary.
“There was a great night had by all at the awards, and it’s great to have gotten the backing from the public.

“The people around Clondalkin really supported us. There’s definitely a lot of people talking about us since the awards.

“We’re very happy we managed to keep up the standard from last year, and we’ve definitely seen a huge increase in our customers even just over the past two weeks.

“Hairlough is also the only barbers in Dublin that hosts an autism friendly day, which takes place one Sunday a month.”
It was the first win for Empire Dance and Fitness, which opened its doors in July 2015.
