Blenders plans for finished goods warehouse at Whitestown Road site

SAUCE manufacturer Blenders’ proposal for the construction of a finished goods warehouse at their premises on Whitestown Road in Tallaght has been approved by South Dublin County Council.

The approved development comprises the construction of a finished goods warehouse, including a freezer room, at the south side of the existing Blenders manufacturing facility.

The proposed extension will have a gross floor area of 3,900 sq.m and a maximum height of 20.5m.

Ancillary works include PV panels to new proposed warehouse roofs, three additional loading dock levellers, and the relocation of existing car parking with no change in the number of spaces.

A new HGV staging area to accommodate four trucks, and the construction of a new 10-metre-high sprinkler tank and three-metre-high pump room are included.

Provision of internal connections to the main Blenders building and a fire escape door to the western elevation of the main Blenders building have also been approved.

The council granted permission for the development on March 27, with a number of conditions including taking measures to reduce air-blown dust during the construction phase.

The developer also has to pay a financial contribution of €466,128 to the council in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting development within the area of the planning authority.
