Bob takes second place at Blackpool balloon bash
A CLONDALKIN native is floating on air after coming second in the Blackpool Balloon Bash.
Palmerstown resident Bob Dunne won second place at the international gathering for balloon professionals from all over the world.
His entry in the five minute balloon sculpture competition was a frog design, and coverage of his entry features on Q corner, Qualatex YouTube channel.
Bob works full time in Snickers workwear and fills his weekends entertaining at parties, having established Bob’s Balloons in 2018, after receiving a novelty balloon book from his wife Eileen for Christmas.
Cllr Trevor Gilligan (FF) said: “I’m delighted for Bob, I have known him a long time. He is a hard worker and this couldn’t happen to a nicer person. He entertained kids at a recent event in The Purty Central and the kids were overjoyed. Next time, I have every belief that he will finish no less than first place in the tournament.”
Cllr Gilligan says plans are being made for Bob’s Balloons to teach some free classes through Dublin libraries sometime later in 2023.
