Builders merchant doubles workforce over past 18 months
A LOCAL builders merchant has more than doubled its staff in the past 18 months, and has recently moved into a new premises in the Hibernian Industrial Estate on the Greenhills Road to facilitate a trade counter for their expanding business.
Liffey Providers started business with a staff of five 18 months ago, and now currently employ a staff of 12.
The builders merchant moved to their new premises last month, serving trade and public customers in Tallaght and surrounding areas.
“We looked at various locations and we chose Tallaght because it’s undersupplied at the minute,” explained Robert Stanley from Liffey Providers.
“And there’s a huge amount of construction in the area.”
Alongside building supplies Liffey Providers also sell doors and floors, and Mr Stanley added that while there is booming construction in areas like Citywest that home improvements are also rising in popularity.
“Instead of moving house people are converting garages and building extensions.
“The materials that are available now have a much improved performance than the same materials 10 years ago – like insulating plaster board, which is really popular, and which helps people to cut down on their fuel bills.”
Mr Stanley added that the business has “hit the ground running” in its new location, and that having brand ambassadors handing out fliers has helped to spread the word about their new location.
