‘Bum-lifting’ brand wins sisters prestigious award

A FAMILY-run business located in Fashion City, Ballymount, has received a prestigious business award after helping to lift sales of Freddy Jeans to new levels.

Sister entrepreneurs Malinidi (25) and Elena (21) Demery are exclusive distributors of the popular Freddy Jeans brand in Ireland. Freddy Jeans is an Italian company, with over 50 stockists across the country and more than 15,000 Irish people wearing their patented, bum-lifting jeans.

The savvy sisters, who only established their business with the introduction of the Freddy Jeans brand into Ireland 18 months ago, recently received the ‘Best Performance Internationally’ award – which recognises the best growth rate among Freddy stockists in more than 50 countries.

Operating from a 3,000 sq ft warehouse in Fashion City, Malindi and Elena, who hail from Blackrock, generate substantial sales through their online ecommerce channel, www.Freddy.ie.

On the back of this success, Malindi and Elena, trading as Freddy, have just renewed their distribution deal with Freddy Clothing, which grants them exclusivity in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for another five years – with the young entrepreneurs also being granted exclusivity for all wholesale sales in the UK market.

Commenting on the company’s success, Malindi, co-founder of Freddy in Ireland, said: “We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the interest and demand that we are experiencing for the Freddy Clothing range in Ireland.

“We are very excited about our future plans and what is possible over the next 12 months in terms of growing the business and building the Freddy Clothing brand.

“Our next big venture is to invest in the opening of our first high street retail store in Dublin and to follow this with a number of stores across the UK. We hope to be in a position to formally announce this opening very shortly.”
