Burns completes move to MK Dons

DARRAGH Burns has completed his move from St Patrick’s Athletic to English League One side, MK Dons for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Saints Academy back in 2018, later made 61 senior appearances for the club, scoring 11 times.

He enjoyed Under 17 League of Ireland success in 2019 before helping the Inchicore club to the Under 19 League of Ireland crown the following year, scoring the decisive goal in the final against Bohemians.

Burns was only 16 when he made his first senior appearance for St Pat’s in July 2019, coming off the bench in a friendly against then UEFA Europa League champions, Chelsea at Richmond Park.

After penning his first professional contract at the outset of the 2020 season, he made his league debut as a substitute against Derry City in August of that year.

He played his part in the team finishing runner-up in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and started their FAI Cup Final triumph over Bohemians at the Aviva Stadium last November.
