Bushido Clondalkin competitors medal in BMA Rumble
THE ANNUAL BMA Rumble, hosted by the Bushido Martial Arts Association, proved once again one of the highlights of the Kickboxing Ireland (KBI) calendar with some 800 athletes from all over Ireland as well as the UK converging on Citywest Hotel on Sunday for this season’s tournament.
Open to all styles and associations and catering for cadets, juniors and seniors as well as veterans in the disciplines of kata, point fighting, light continuous, full contact and K1 fighting, the competition saw BMA Clondalkin record a huge medal haul of 11 gold, three silver and seven bronze.

The family trio of Abbie, Ryan and Amy Wade accounted for a large chunk of this return with four gold and one silver.
Indeed younger siblings Abbie and Ryan emerged double gold winners while 12-year-old Amy took the runner-up spot in the Girls Advanced Light Continuous division.
The unstoppable Orlovas brothers were in flying form once again with seven-year-old Eidenas taking gold in the Boys Advanced Under 8 Light Contact and Point Fighting divisions while nine-year-old Aranas brought home gold in the Boys Under 10 class.
Remi Galicean (13) also boasted a double gold after winning out in the Boys Under 14 Point Fighting and Light Continuous division, meeting his team mate Ben Mahony King in both semi finals.
Older Galicean sibling, Alex (15), lost by a solitary point in the Boys Under 16 Point field.
Natalia Blaszczak (12) took the Girls Novice Under 14 Point gold while Alex Strachota reached the finals of the Boys Novice Under 14 Light Continuous tall division but fell short by a couple of points.
The lone senior competitor for the Clondalkin club was Alex Barrett who picked up first place in the Men’s Light Contact -63kg category.
Bronze medal winners were Sean Hawkins, Cayden Derwin, Roan Derwin, Nathan Staunton and Ryan Maning.
Unlucky not to reach the podium this time round were Ross Gaynor, Corey Slator, Ali Devine, Daniel Casey, Joshua and Cameron Stanton.
