Bushido deliver on Cork fight night

BUSHIDO Clondalkin members carded some fine wins at the recent MIKO Martial Arts Fight Night in the Ambassador Hotel in Cork.
Fielding ten competitors on the 18-bout bill, BMA Clondalkin saw their own Donal Hickey emerge victorious from the headline contest against Jim Hickey of the host club.Bushido team
This three-round affair saw the Clondalkin man take control early on, dominating the opening two rounds before his Cork opponent fought back in the third to draw level and force supplementary time.
Hickey got back in control with some well-timed punches and took the win and the main event trophy.
The undercard bouts were an even mix with Elaine Lynch losing out Louisa Heckett from MIKO, Alan O’Connor narrowly beaten by Szymone Leszek of MIKO, Kevin Quill on the wrong end of a very close split decision against BMA Cork’s Paeder Constantine, Aoife Walsh also beaten by BMA Cork’s Nicole Barrett and Evan Spier edged out by a solitary point when he came up against MIKO Cork’s Martin McCarthy.
The winners on the night from the Clondalkin outfit were Ward Oostveen who beat BMA Cork’s Ger Pentony in the very first bout of the night.
Anita Kane was too strong an opponent for MIKO Cork’s Natasha Durrity while Kelly Byrne earned a good win over Olivia O’Callaghan from the host club and Eoin Murray was also on the winning side against Simon O’Leary.
