Butlers cafés donate proceeds from hot drinks sales to homelessness services

Butlers Cup4 Day, which the chain started in 2012, takes place on Tuesday, May 14, at cafes nationwide, including Liffey Valley.
This year all Dublin proceeds will be donated to the Capuchin Day Centre on Bow Street, while Cork Penny Dinners and the Simon Community in both Limerick and Galway will be the recipients of funds raised locally.

Mairead Sorensen, Chairman of Butlers Chocolates, said a warm drink is “symbolic of welcome and sharing” and encouraged customers to support the initiative across their 23 chocolate cafés in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.
Brother Kevin of the Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin said: “We rely heavily on public donations and fund-raising to support vulnerable people who still struggle to achieve a basic standard of living. Thank you to Butlers Chocolates and to everyone who supports the day”.
The Capuchin Day Centre provides meals, food parcels, shower facilities and fresh clothing to people in need.
Butlers Cup 4 Day takes place all day on Tuesday, May 14.
