Cemetery plans lodged by Citywest Hotel owners

A SITE notice for planning permission for an 8,047-plot cemetery has been erected at a site in the grounds of the Citywest Hotel and Convention Centre.

Cape Wrath Hotel Unlimited, which operates the Citywest Hotel, placed the site notice last Monday, December 5.

The proposed cemetery development comprises 8,047 traditional burial plots, columbarium walls, a single-storey reception building, an office, a reception store, a toilet and a kitchenette.

The proposal includes a new vehicular access road from Garters Lane to the N7/M7 Naas Road, with two vehicular access points serving the cemetery.

Provision of 110 parking spaces, eight bicycle parking stands, and hard and soft landscaping works, including the reshaping of an existing lake and the construction of a footbridge, is included.

A decision on the application has not yet been made by South Dublin County Council.
