Children’s services to benefit from specialist equipment

ENABLE Ireland’s children’s services in Tallaght recently received boxes of educational toys and specialist equipment from IT company Stacked, which chose the leading disability organisation as its Charity of the Year in 2016.

Founded in 1948, Enable Ireland provides services to more than 5,500 children and adults with disabilities in 40 locations across 14 counties, with the charity having a children’s service in Tymon North, Tallaght, since 1994.

The service provides services to children and teenagers living in Tallaght, Lucan, Palmerstown, Clondalkin and Templeogue who primarily have a physical disability.

Those using the service will now be able to benefit from boxes of educational toys and specialist equipment donated by Stacked, which included a fantastic colourful trampoline – which, according to Enable Ireland, offers both fun and supports physical therapies.

Enable Ireland was chosen by the IT company as its Charity Partner in 2016, which saw Stacked staff co-ordinate a series of fundraising initiatives such as a comedy night, bucket collection, the Women’s Mini Marathon and a Christmas raffle.

Patrick Sweetman, Commercial Director at Stacked, said: “We are so delighted to have been able to provide these products to the Tallaght centre.

“It is wonderful to see how much our contribution will help the service users. We are also really proud of our own team who took time out to fundraise for Enable Ireland in 2016”.
