“It’s great to see the kids’ faces on Christmas morning, particularly the younger ones (Max, 5 and Katie, 13) because they do be so excited. That’s what Christmas is all about today isn’t it? The kids and seeing their reactions.

“We normally put the decorations up around the end of November, I’d be a bit of an early decorator.

"Myself and the younger one’s love putting them up, the older ones do as well but they wouldn’t be as interested, but it doesn’t take that long. It just makes it more cosy coming up to Christmas.

“Normally on Christmas Eve we’d go out for a drive around the city centre to see the Christmas lights, we love doing that, and of course your man in Kilnamanagh with all the lights – it’s great. Then we would come back home and put on the Christmas films.

“We watch Elf every single year, it’s brilliant and then afterwards I’ve to start my preparations for the next day so I’d start that.

“Spending time with family is what it’s all about. It’s the only real time that we’d all get to spend quality family time together because people are working and all. My brothers live down the country and they come up as well, it’s just great to get everyone together.”
