Citywest man pleads for return of stolen research project and laptop
A local man, currently studying for his Masters, is pleading with the public for their help after his laptop and his entire research project was stolen from his car in Citywest on Sunday night.
Michael Noonan, who lives in the Corbally estate and is a lecturer in Blanchardstown IT, has been working on his Masters for a year.
Among the items stolen from his car was a laptop, an external hard drive, memory sticks, and several folders, which contain years of work, including five years of compiled statistics.
Speaking to Echo.ie, Michael’s partner explained the importance of the items taken, and urged anyone living in the area to check their gardens and bins as the thieves most likely dumped the folders.
She said: “All of his research for his masters which has taken a year to do and all the photos of his kids since birth are on the hard drive.
“The folders contain his written notes and five years worth of statistics he had based his research on.
“Can people check their gardens for the folders as they aren’t worth anything to anyone and will be dumped.
“He has no other copies of the handwritten stuff or a backup of the hard drive so everything is gone.
Michael will be well-known to those in footballing circles as he has spent time working with the FAI emerging talent programme, the Dublin District Schoolboys League and the Metropolitan Girls League.
His Masters is focused on obesity and weight management and he hopes to write it into early childcare modules in the future.
