Clancy steps down as St Pat’s manager

ST PATRICK’S Athletic Football Club are on the lookout for a new manager following the shock resignation of manager Tim Clancy.

Clancy stepped down after the Super Saints suffered their third defeat in a row in the Airtricity League on Bank Holiday Monday to Sligo Rovers going down 1-0 at Richmond Park.

The result leaves St Pat’s on 17 points after 13 games with five wins only this term.

Clancy joined St Pat’s in December 2021 after he left Drogheda United.

The team held its own last season, finishing a respectable fourth place and they also had a good run in the Europa Conference League.

In a club statement released this morning, St Patrick’s Athletic said: ‘can confirm that Tim Clancy has resigned from his position as First Team Manager by mutual consent.

“Club chairman Garrett Kelleher would like to thank Tim for his commitment to the club over the last 18 months.

“Tim would like to thank everyone at St Pat’s for their support during his time as Manager and wishes the club the best of luck in the future”.
