A CLONDALKIN man who allegedly sliced another man’s face with a blade has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Court.
Darren Gallagher was before Judge David McHugh in Blanchardstown Court for service of his book of evidence.
Gallagher’s alleged victim refused to make any complaint and denied he had any injury despite having a three inch scar on his face.
The court had previously refused jurisdiction.
The court had heard it will be alleged that at 4.10pm on April 22 last, a Garda had been on patrol with a colleague on Neilstown Road when he observed Gallagher walking along the road and approach a man from behind and then slice his face with a knife.
The injured party did not want to make a complaint and denied he had suffered any injury. When the Garda had called to the injured party’s house, the injured party had a three inch scar on his face, the court had heard.
Gallagher, aged 45, with an address at St Ronan’s Park, Clondalkin, is charged with assaulting a named male causing him harm and producing a knife at Neilstown Road in Clondalkin on April 22, 2016.
Solicitor for the DPP, Tom Conlon, told Judge McHugh that the book was ready to be served.
He said the DPP had consented for Gallagher to be sent forward for trial to the present sitting of Dublin Circuit Court.
Judge McHugh sent Gallagher forward on bail to the present sitting of the Circuit Court.
