Clondalkin newsagent points out the 5 million sales reality of print

By William O’Connor

POPULAR Clondalkin businessman Joe Mannion of Mannion Day Today News, was elected to the National Executive of the 1,500 strong Convenience Stores and Newsagents Association (CSNA) at the Annual general meeting of the Association last week.

“There are too many people believing the falsehood that print is dead”, Joe said, “the reality is that over 5 million newspapers and magazines are sold in our stores every week”.

Recent surveys have shown that advertisers get better return on print ads than any other medium; print helps consumers keep abreast with news at their own pace, whether it is regional or national newspapers or any of the thousands of magazine titles sold in retail outlets throughout the country.

Mr Mannion was also optimistic about the future of independent retailers, especially those who are members of CSNA.

The association keeps all of its 1,500 members fully up to date with legislation and provides a very valuable Affinity partnership with over 30 companies to help independents compete on value and access to services.
