Clondalkin’s Precision Display squad scooped first place in the Senior Team competition.

An all-floor competition involing acrobatics, tumb-ling and choreography to music, the GymFest saw Clondalkin’s Precision Display Squad scoop the ‘Best Senior Display Team’ Award.

It was the first time that the team were afforded the opportunity to compete on home soil having won a number of international titles including silver at the World Championships in Norway back in 2017.

Olympian Gymnastic Club’s Kallisto were declared the ‘Best Junior Display Team’ while Duhallow Juniors picked up the ‘Best Newcomer Display Team’ honour.

“It was the first time that we hosted an event such as this and we were over-whelmed with the response” said Clondalkin Gymnastics Club’s Julia Toomey.

“The whole event was a huge success and all the gymnasts and coaches have given us great feedback as to how well run the event was and how happy the gymnasts were.

“We’re already planning for 2020 and we’ll be looking at inviting over a few teams from the UK.”
