Cluck Chicken wins Best Burger at JustEat Awards

CLUCK Chicken won Best Burger at the Just Eat Awards, recognition for the impact it has made since chef Ian Ussher opened a Walkinstown food truck in 2020 during lockdowns.

The food truck opened in the car park at Walkinstown roundabout, near the Cherrytree pub, and it was an instant hit, leading to the regular sight of long queues.

Business was so busy that Ian moved 100 metres up the Greenhills Road where the truck has it’s own ‘cluck yard’ and again, massive queues were the order of the day, but this time around customers had plenty of room to park and wait for the orders.

The business has since expanded with another location at The Square Shopping Centre in Tallaght.

Ussher is also behind the popular Ian’s Kitchen in Crumlin, another venture that almost always has a long line of people waiting outside to eat in.

Over 47,500 votes were cast for the 10th annual Just Eat Awards, which was hosted by TV presenter and podcaster, Muireann O’Connell at the Marker Hotel in Dublin.

Amanda Roche-Kelly, Managing Director of Just Eat Ireland said: “We were delighted to celebrate a historic moment for Just Eat since first launching in the Irish market fifteen years ago, and mark a decade of the Just Eat Awards.

“With over 3,700 partners on the platform, the Just Eat Awards recognise our incredible restaurant, grocery, and convenience partners in Ireland.”

In the lead up to the awards, Just Eat enlisted social media foodie Cassie Stokes, to visit each of the ‘Best of Ireland’ category finalists and document what makes each one so special.
