Conor McGregor shows support for Esker Boxing Club’s campaign for permanent home

UFC champion Conor McGregor showed support this week to Esker boxing club, based in Lucan, as they continue to fight for a permanent home.

The current UFC Featherweight champion, who in the midst of training for a re-match against Nate Diaz at UFC 202 next month, took some time out of his busy training schedule to show support for the local club.

Since it first opened its doors five years ago, Esker Boxing Club has grown from strength-to-strength but has yet to establish a permanent home for itself despite repeated attempts to get funding to build a new clubhouse.

The club is set to host more than 180 boxers from all over the world as part of its All Female Boxcup 2016, which will take place in October.

Support for a permanent home for Esker boxing club was also shown by former World Cruiserweight Champion and Sky Sports commentator Glenn McCrory.
