Council requests additional details on flood risk assessment site in Greenogue

SOUTH Dublin County Council has requested additional information about flood risk assessment as part of an application for planning permission on a site in Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole.

PRL Group’s application outlines plans to replace a 791sqm temporary structure with an integrated extension, including 800sqm of warehousing, three new dock levellers, canopy to loading doors, additional ancillary car parking, and a new HGV entrance from Grants Crescent.

The applicant has also applied for permission to extend their existing 1,639sqm warehouse unit, and their 590sqm ancillary offices and staff area.

SDCC found that the proposed buildings were located in two flood zones, and instructed the applicant to submit a Justification Test in accordance with Section 5.15 of the Planning System and Flood Risk Management Guidelines for Planning Authorities.

A Justification Test was submitted JBA Consulting that stated that a boundary wall running along the northern and western boundary of the site would prevent shallow floodwater from coming into the site.

A decision is due from SDCC on March 2.
