County Fare offering top class coffee from around the world
A NEW speciality coffee shop has opened its doors in Tallaght, offering top-class coffee from around the world and a healthy and locally sourced breakfast, lunch and artisan fare menu – not to mention tasty homemade breads and patisseries.
Located in the Tallaght Enterprise Centre on Main Road, beside Lidl, the County Fare is offering “the best coffee in Tallaght” with the help of two skilled baristas, who are brewing aromatic cups of coffee from beans that have been sourced directly from producers in Brazil, El Salvador, Kenya and Colombia.
All coffee, which is single origin and bought in small batches, is lightly roasted to retain all of its flavours, a process which is going down a hit with coffee enthusiasts.
If coffee is not your cup, the café also has a range of teas available that are sourced from Terenure company, Nik’s Tea – and which go down a treat with the County Fare’s homemade selection of sandwiches, breads and cakes.
A not-for-profit, social enterprise, the County Fare is serving up a unique and freshly prepared-on-site menu that starts with breakfast at 8am that includes muesli, porridge, granola and toast.
Each day for lunch a vegan friendly soup, such as roast butternut squash with a hint of chilli or plum tomato, roasted peppers and pesto basil, is served with homemade breads.
A daily hotpot is also on the menu and includes dishes such as lamb and couscous or chicken korma with cumin pilau rice alongside a daily protein pot, which has in recent days seen marinated prawns on crispy salad and smoked salmon, leaves and seeds grace the chalk board.
Two offerings of artisan sandwiches are also available fresh each day and range from roast chicken, pesto mayo and rocket leaves on sourdough to pastrami and pickle on brown.
The rustic and homemade aspect of the food is mirrored in the café’s surroundings, which are welcoming, cosy and charming – providing the perfect eclectic getaway from the bustle of village and work life.
John Kearns, CEO of Partas, which is running the café as a social enterprise, told The Echo: “The County Fare is an artisan haven in the centre of Tallaght.
“Not only is it a speciality coffee shop but it is using local suppliers and artisan producers, and showcasing this produce as well.
“It is a social enterprise too, which means that all of the profits made will be reinvested into supporting the social fabric of Tallaght – with profits being directed into enterprise development, training and helping people to get jobs.”
He added: “The café has been designed with everybody in mind and is a high-end café for the entire community.
“It’s promoting and celebrating the produce of the county while also giving people a place to come for the best coffee in Tallaght or to enjoy a tasty snack or lunch with friends.”
The County Fare, which is child friendly and has parking on site and a suntrap garden, was officially opened on Tuesday by County Mayor, Guss O’ Connell.
