Up to 3,698 applications were approved from a total of 4,851 applications received for the scheme, which closed in December 2020.

Cllr Carly Bailey (SocDems) asked South Dublin County Council for an update on the supports available to local businesses in order to help them continue to operate during the pandemic.

In response, the council said they and South Dublin LEO completed a programme of specific Covid supports to the end of 2020 which were targeted to the business owners of “micro and small enterprises” impacted by the pandemic.

“The various Covid-19 supports attracted an exceptionally high volume of applications from right across the county,” said South Dublin County Council.

Up to €1.69m in the value of Trading Online Vouchers was granted via 672 approved applications.

Over 1,300 applications were submitted to the council for the scheme.

Over 550 Business Continuity Support vouchers were approved in 2020 – a total value of €580K.

The council said free mentoring supports continue to be available for small businesses, along with training workshops and seminars free of charge or at substantially reduced rates.

The Business Support Fund has been extended into 2021 – details available at Business-Support-Fund.
