The cheque for €23,463.50 was presented to some of the staff, teachers and students of the Clondalkin school, who educate approximately 65 children from the age of 3 to 18 years that have multiple disabilities.

The funds will go towards a refurbishment of the playground at the grounds of the school for the children to enjoy.

Speaking about the fundraiser, head of fundraising at Central Remedial Clinic, Ziva Newman, told The Echo: “We have a playground that just needs a little bit of an upgrade so Cuisine De France, who are our neighbours there in Clondalkin – they chose us, and they set a target for themselves of €20,000 to refurbish the playground.

“In May, they had a challenge to run or walk the most and they set up an iDonate page and they raised over €13,000 there and then their mother company, Aryzta, donated €10,000 to match that, so that’s how we ended up with over €23,000, which was amazing.

“They were incredible and really passionate and very much invested into not only the challenge but doing it for the playground and we have a great relationship with them.”
