Gaelscoil Inse Chor emerged victorious in the final of the Corn Geoffrey Keating in Croke Park earlier this week as they defeated Gaelscoil Mológa by a 2-13 to 3-07 scoreline.

With just three points separating the two sides in the finish it was an action filled game that saw the teams exchange periods of momentum.

Particularly strong performances came from captain Comhaill O Fearchair and Joe O Cuinn with two goals coming courtesy of Ruairi O Peatain and Donnacha O Brolchain.

It is worth noting however that the whole team put in an incredible performance on their way to winning silverware.

St Damian’s Perrystown had two teams competing at Croke Park with the boys and the girls sides

The girls’ side suffered a narrow three point defeat to Our Lady of the Wayside in a hard fought final.

It was a tough first half although Damian’s rallied superbly in the second.

Coming out fighting there were some excellent scores from Emily Ward, Edel Wise, Anna Dollard and Darcie Bennett.

Standout performances came from the likes of Edel Wise and Lainne-Grace but the whole team delivered an outstanding performance showing resilience and fighting spirit, particularly in the second half.

The boys’ team would also come up just short in their final as they took on Gaelscoil na Fuinseoige.

The team put in a superb performance with a goal from co captain Conan Flanagan as well as points from Jack Dollard, Lucas Farrelly Campbell and Kyle Nolan not being able to see them over the line.

Standout performances also included Liam Tamiazzo and James Rafferty who both held the line at the back valiantly.

Jack Dollard kept things moving around the middle of the pitch and the team never gave up doing themselves, their school and their family proud.

St Pius X against St Helen’s Portmarknock in Croke Park

St Pius X found themselves just missing out on silverware in the final of the Corn Kitterick where they faced off against St Helen’s Portmarknock.

It would be by just five points that the side missed out as a strong second half for the opposition saw them get over the line.

Goalkeeper Paddy Lappin, Niall Martin, Sam Hanlon, Jack O’Leary and captain Billy Sheehan were some of the standout performers for the side.

Lappin, Martin and Hanlon ensured that the defence was shored up while Sheehan orchestrated attacks from the middle of the park as well as kicking over scores himself.

O’Leary would grab a goal on the day in what was an extremely memorable occasion for the school in Croke Park.
