Dublin Fire Brigade have shared images of the damage caused by last night’s fire in the Dublin mountains as the cause of the blaze remains unknown.

Dry land and strong winds contributed to the fires intensity, with the blaze visible from many parts of the capital.
The tough terrain made access to the fire difficult for a time, and firefighters remained at the scene throughout the night as they attempted to contain it.
