Dancers sweep to All-Ireland victory
By Maurice Garvey
BALLYFERMOT Irish dancers picked up awards at the recent Cumann Rínce Deamheasa All-Ireland Championships in Killarney (June 23-26).
The O’Rourke/Hopkins School of Irish Dancing in Ballyfermot was established three years ago.
Sarah Hopkins said: “The girls and boys are improving so much each year. Eleven of our dancers took part in the All-Ireland Championships, which was held in the Gleneagles Hotel in Killarney, and overall we had three All-Ireland champions, three 2nd places, and all the rest in the top five, which was an amazing achievement.
“The girls and boys from the O’Rourke/Hopkins school worked so hard all year to take part in this competition, and they have done themselves proud, their teachers proud, their parents proud, and of course Ballyfermot proud.”
