Tallaght based company to be sold for €2.15bn in cash

Tallaght based software company Fleetmatics is set to be sold for €2.15bn in cash to US Telecoms giant Verizon, it has been revealed today.

Back in June the company announced they were increasing their workforce based in Cookstown by 75 employees, which would bring the company’s total employee headcount in Ireland to well over 200 by 2018.

The deal will make Fleetmatics a part of Verizon Telematics, a subsidiary of the telco that focuses on fleet management and mobile workforce solutions.

Fleetmatics is leading global provider of mobile workforce solutions for service-based businesses of all sizes delivered as software-as-a-service (SaaS).

Based in Cookstown Industrial Estate, Fleetmatics was founded in Ireland in 2004, in a small office in Templeogue, employing about 10 people in the first year of operation.
