Dedicated sacristan Mary will be missed by the community

TRIBUTES were made to Mary Brennan, a dedicated sacristan for over 25 years at the Assumption church in Ballyfermot.

Ms Brennan, a Ballyfermot resident, passed away in St James Hospital on March 12, and was laid to rest on March 15 at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.

Sean Brennan, from Ballyfermot Heritage Group, paid tribute to a “kind and dedicated sacristan for over 25 years in the Church of the Assumption”.

“Fr Stan, who was a great friend to Mary, returned for her Mass. Her many friends formed a guard of honour to thank her for her dedication and say a last farewell,” said Sean.

A message on RIP.ie said: “Mary Brennan (née Moran), Ballyfermot and formerly of Sallins Co. Kildare. Beloved wife of the late Frank and loving mam to Darragh and his partner Hazel. Very sadly missed by her loving family, sisters Beryl and Carmel, brother Michael, brothers-in-law Tony and John, sister-in-law Dolores, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.”
