Delighted mother is so proud of Hannah (15) on RTE show Kin

TEEN actor Hannah Adeogun didn’t just get to star in RTE show Kin, but she also managed to break out dance moves with her mates during Covid lockdown.

Hannah (15), a Cherrywood Clondalkin resident, plays Anna, the daughter of Michael (Charlie Cox), in the hit crime drama.

Filming took place from October 2020 to February 2021, when the country was undergoing it’s bleakest lockdown period.

However, the ability to perform Hip Hop moves, seen on episode five last week, that Hannah learned in her dance group Fit Kids – Fit Teens, was invaluable, according to her mother Jacinta O’Leary.

“It was one of her favourite days on set, to go in and transform, take her away from the isolation, and spend the whole day with her friends,” she said.

“It was very important to every teenager and especially when some hadn’t experienced that before, getting to see behind the scenes.”

Jacinta Cassidy, founder of Fit Kids – Fit Teens, agreed with the sentiment.

“It was very exciting for us to see the dance scene on Sunday night. Great that we could come out of the woodwork during Covid. Hannah has been with us since she was three. We are so proud of her.”

A few years ago, Hannah expressed an interest in acting, and her mother Jacinta rang around, which led to Hannah’s first acting gig on Women on the Verge (2018).

“I saw casting for Kin on Facebook, got a call from someone in the dance group, she went in for auditions which is quite a lengthy process, and the rest, as they say is history,” said Jacinta.

“She is very outgoing, and loves being on set. It was never an issue for her. I’d be there with her as well but she has a natural ability for acting.”

Hannah is in TY at Deansrath Community College, and missed some classes but the “school have been very supportive,”, according to her mother.

“I didn’t want to put too much pressure on her in school. All the cast are lovely, Ciaran Hinds, Charlie Cox. She has an agent but if she decides to change her mind about acting, that is fine. We’ll look at other different stuff in the background, she is interested in law.”
