Digital Realty Trust is granted permission for revisions to plans for Data Centre in Profile Park
DIGITAL Realty Trust has been granted planning permission for a number of revisions and alterations to the permitted development of a data processing facility in Profile Park in Baldonnell.
The data centre company secured planning permission from South Dublin County Council in 2012 for the development of four substations as part of their existing data facility.
In their current planning application, the company was granted permission for alterations to the development of a previously permitted data centre.
These alterations include increasing the area of two data halls by 180 sq. m, decreasing an office/reception area by 478 sq. m, increasing the support space/staff facilities and internal plant area by 84 sq. m, and increasing the external plant by 35 sq. m.
It is proposed that the development will be constructed in five phases, with the first two phases having already reached completion.
There are plans for the subsequent phases to contain a single warehouse building at phase three, and there are provisions for 84 car parking spaces, recycling storage and all ancillary services and landscaping.
There will also be two site entrances from vehicular accesses, which have been previously permitted as part of the business park infrastructure.
South Dublin County Council granted permission for the revisions last month.
