Dodder Anglers host Leinster River Championship qualifier

The Irish Fly Fishing Association  ( ITFFA ) will hold their Leinster River Championship qualifier on the river Dodder this Sunday between the hours of 10am until 5pm.

Fourteen anglers from different angling clubs in the Leinster region will fish the competition in the hope of finishing in the top five positions to then go on to reprents Leinster in next year’s National final 2025. From the National competition they would have a chance to qualify for the Irish International team.

“The Dodder Anglers are hosting this competition for the third time and it’s a great honour for the club,” said Dodder Anglers committee member Gerry Heaslip.

“The Dodder Anglers and the ITFFA would like to thank Rory and Mary Harkin of Rory’s Fishing Tackle Temple Bar for their ongoing sponsorship of this competition it is very much appreciated.

“The Dodder Anglers would like to ask for the public’s help to make this day a great success, please come along to see some of our top fly fishing anglers in action,” added Gerry.

Anglers will be fishing the competition from the Riverside cottages at Templeogue down stream to the Dropping Well Pub.

Organiser are asking all dog owners if they could keep their dogs out of the river in those areas for the duration of the competition and would encourage their support.
