Double delight for Terenure College
IT WAS a great weekend for Terenure College RFC who saw their firsts secure top flight status in the Ulster Bank League for next season while their sixths landed the Guilfoyle Cup following an exciting 14-10 point triumph over Bective RFC.
Despite losing out 27-25 as a result of a late try from Dublin University’s Tim Maupin, the Terenure firsts did enough to stay up, finishing eighth, just a point behind Garryowen who still remain in danger of the drop.
Given that they were rooted to the bottom of the table at start of the year, the Lakelands Park side will be well pleased with their close to a demanding campaign.
Meanwhile the Terenure sixths turned in a resilient displace to land the Guilfoyle Cup.
After hosts Bective made their early running, the visitors fought back with tries from Cian Neu and Graham Mooney.
Terenure now continue on to play Clondalkin RFC thirds in the Division 10 League Final this coming Saturday in Gordon Park.
