Drimnagh Castle play their hearts out in hurling final

THERE was disappointment for Drimnagh Castle in the Cumann na mBunscol Sciath Johnston Mooney and O’Brien final.

The Drimnagh side were beaten in the final for the third year running as they went down to Scoil Padraig, Diswellstown 1-3 to 1-9.

It was a heart breaking defeat for Drimnagh who battled so hard and were disallowed a late goal after Reece Kennedy’s effort was not allowed. The opening half was well contested with Oisin Rooney and Richard Delaney on the mark for Drimnagh Castle.

The game was their for the taking and went Rooney scored Drimnagh Castle’s goal it gave them a big lift.

With captain Conor Forrester leading by example, Drimnagh applied the pressure with Niall Kelly and Dean Kelly standing out.

However Drimnagh’s will be disappointed at losing this one as they thought Reece Kelly’s goal was disallowed.
