In this week’s Echo Sport our sports editor, Stephen Leonard chats to Tallaght’s Brian Gregan after he was a part of the Irish 4x400m relay team that set a new Irish record at the IAAF World Championships recently.

We also hear from our Sports Star of the Month for June, Jenny Egan ahead of the upcoming World Marathon Canoe Championships in Hungary, and after a remarkable career, Nikki Symmons, formerly of Loreto Beaufort, chats to Echo Sport about her recent induction into the European Hockey Federation’s Hall of Fame.

There’s also news of success for several locals who were part of the Irish Men’s team that took bronze at the recent Men’s Eurohockey Nations Championships, and we have all the latest from the Alex Gleeson from Castle Golf Club after he lifted the Irish Youth Golf Championship.

In martial arts, news of a remarkable WAKO Cadet and Junior Championships for several young local fighters from Tallaght Martial Arts and BMA Clondalklin takes centre-stage, while there is also news of a superb inaugural AMA Ireland International Karate Championships, which took place in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght at the weekend.

We also have action and pictures from the Ballyboden St Enda’s clash with Man O’War in the Joy Cup Final, and there is action from the Leinster Senior League clash between Palmerstown FC and Shielton LC.
